Google Earth: Photos of North Korea's Nuke Test Site
Screenshots from North Korea's nuclear test site and related facilities. I took a spin through Google Earth and grabbed some screen caps. Check out the slideshow here. The coordinates of the testing site buildings are: 41°16'40.29"N 129°05'06.06"E It doesn't look like much, but there ya go. There's some good information about Korea's nuke testing over at Global Security. And more information about digital maps of North Korea from The New York Times.

The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) in North Korea is reporting that they have successfully tested a Nuclear Weapon below the surface in Northeast N. Korea Monday Morning. The apparent nuclear test was conducted at 10:36 a.m. (0136 GMT) in Hwaderi near Kilju city, Yonhap reported, citing defense officials. Although there was a Magnitude 4.2 tremor in Northeast N. Korea and are visible on seismographs. The problem is that TNT can produce the same results as can other large conventional weapons. What’s missing? There is NO evidence of radiation detected anywhere. That’s right NO radiation detection. Our radiation detectors are as or more sensitive than our earthquake detection. The 3.58 magnitude event that South Korean sources initially reported is not of Nuclear Caliber. If you look at seismic data from around the world you will notice a drop off more consistent with a conventional explosive then nuclear. If you remember your physics a nuclear device will not drop off at a rate like conventional explosive. If North Korea achieved a nuclear blast, it was small, so small that it's highly unlikely. It appears more likely that there was some blast, but with conventional explosives and far below the level that would be generated by a nuclear test. The Bottom line, Fast drop off in Seismic activity from surrounding stations rather than sustained activity due to nuclear expand ion, no detection of radiation in any of our detection areas in S. Korea, Alaska, and Japan, and a fizzle rather than pop related more to small conventional explosion. The Bogus Nuke test, why? To find out what the world response would be and to black mail nations to give financial aid. Don’t be fooled by Kim Il Sung

Beore the second half of last century began, United states experimented nuke test, then USSR on 1954, then france, britian, china, india, pakisthan. Then Why not North Korea. this all are the prelude of the destruction of mankind.. my suggestion is everyone should experiment on nukes, so that no one dare use that..so much rue and cry over this wont help any more. this has to be considered before.. now wait for the end of the civilised mankind...

Read the play A WALK IN THE WOODS by Lee Blessing or the book DEADLY GAMBITS to get a good view of the history of nuclear "negotiations" and the different viewpoints of how we can try (if possible) to prevent the destruction of mankind.
