Google's New Gmail Features 'Is Very Nice, High Five!'

gmail is very nice Google released a few new features to Gmail overnight. If you're a Gmail user, please refer to this post as "Captain Obvious States the McObvious."

If you're not a Gmail user or you don't ever check your e-mail (sloth is a deadly sin, detective Mills), then here's a list of said features:

-- Drop Shadows -- so your e-mails just pop outta the background, baby, in that faux 3D way you know and love.
-- Show Details replaced with Drop Down Menu -- drop-down list has reply to all, forward, print, report phishing, show original, etc.
-- Details menu revamped -- little bit easier to read, and not separated from the body of the email as much.
-- New icons for reply, reply to all, and forward
-- New messages alert -- when you're reading an e-mail sent to multiple people, such as a listserv, and a new message arrives, Gmail notifies you.

I like it. Is very nice.

Now, the thing most needed is, UI font customization.. I dont like those aerial fonts all over my email page.. I want Tahoma 8/9/10 as my default font.. wondering if gmail can do that too... !@! But these features are really good..

antonio :

What's crazy is that if you have the interface in Italian for example you don't see these new features.. They still have to translate the stuff!

Alok :

Can't see it my inbox. Maybe the upgrade hit a few select users. Can't wait to see the new feature. But since I am a heavy keyboard user, I don't fancy the mouse related menu items much. What would be more welcome, is more keyboard shortcuts for existing things only accessible via the mouse.

Brian :

What I would like to see is when you have a message open and then you click the delete button, the next message opens up instead of going back to the inbox.

Steve Bryant :

I agree Brian. I wonder if they could make that an option in your settings...

Joel :

Cool.

Now where's the IMAP4 support!?
