Watchdog Wants Google's Head as Google's Lobbying Spend Jumps 57%

Google increased its lobbying spending in the first quarter by 57 percent over the first quarter 2009, shelling out $1.3 million on network neutrality and the fight against censorship in China and other countries. Meanwhile, Consumer Watchdog plans to ask the government to break Google up. Seriously!

Arbor Networks has determined that Google contributes somewhere between 6 to 10 percent of all Internet traffic worldwide. That's part of why Google is big enough to be an Internet service provider.
