Publish Custom Google Maps with YourGMap

YourGMap lets you create and publish Google maps with custom markers and locations. The tool allows you to specify several settings for your custom map, including the default map type (satellite, map or hybrid), the zoom level, the marker type, and lets you embed the map in a separate page. You have to register for a login ID and password. The site places Google ads next to the maps you create.  It doesn't support driving directions -- or, better yet, multi-waypoint driving directions -- but it's a useful tool nonetheless.

I went back home to Virginia for Thanksgiving, and while I was there I visited my dad's house in Richmond, my aunt's house in Lovingston, and my uncle's place at the beach. So I needed a quick way to show my friends and family where I went. Here's a quick map I produced after returning from VA.
